National Volunteer Month Has Arrived!

Volunteer [vol-uh n-teer]; a person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking.

April is National Volunteer Month. It’s a time when we celebrate and acknowledge all of the work that volunteers do year-round for our organizations. Many of us have had the privilege of working with—or being, a volunteer.  This month, organizations all across the nation will recognize those that have taken the time to volunteer and have helped them out along the way.

Are you someone who feels like you would like to give more by volunteering, but can’t quite figure out how—or who to do it for? Mentoring is a great way to volunteer and give back in your community. Midlands Mentoring Partnership (MMP) works collectively with eleven mentoring programs to increase the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships. The mentoring programs that MMP partners with offer one-on-one, group, couple and faith-based mentoring.  Communities with a mentoring presence see lower dropout rates with teens, fewer teen pregnancies, and less teen substance abuse. Businesses that have employees that volunteer through mentoring also have a more engaged workforce.

Log on to www.mentoromahanow.org to take a short quiz to find out which of the eleven mentoring agencies is right for you. Your interests, abilities, time, and talent are appreciated in whichever program you choose!

  1. Whats up this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated! --- www.adsanchor.com
