Submit a Nomination for the Young Black & Influential Mentor of the Year

The Young Black & Influential Mentor of the Year award honors a Black Influencer who is committed to helping young people achieve their potential through formal mentoring. This award sponsored by MENTOR Nebraska in partnership with Young Black & Influential Omaha, looks for mentors whose exceptional commitment and dedication have changed the lives of Black youth in Omaha.

Who is eligible? Any Black mentor, living in the Greater Omaha area, who is under 40 and serves as a formal mentor for one of MENTOR Nebraska’s member programs.

Who can nominate? Nominations will be accepted from MENTOR Nebraska’s mentoring partners, program staff or participants.

How is the winner selected? The award will be voted on by a steering committee from the Young Black & Influential Omaha Awards team (prior year recipients).

When? The award will be presented each year at the Young Black & Influential Awards. The 2019 award will be presented on Sunday, June 30.

Why? To affirm Black Influencers in the Omaha community that create positive impact for the youth through formal mentoring.
